Question about selling firearm

Verify that his FFL dealer is in fact currently licensed and you are sending to a valid FFL address.
You can Google for the BATFE's "E-Z-Chek" system, just get a few digits from his FFL number and enter them on the screen.
You are not required to ship ordinary firearms from an FFL, you can ship directly to receiving FFL. (The exception in CA is for assault weapons by name or assembled with certain characteristic features.)
You can send the item via any shipper you want, with the exception that handguns cannot be shiped via US Mail. You do declare the item as a firearm prior to shipping.
