I am new here and I can finally understand the threads with all the acronyms. Here is my attempt at sounding like a seasoned Calgunner.

"I just bought an ACOG Advanced combat optical gunsight to accompany my BUIS, back up iron sights and I also purchased a BB bullet button and a LPK lower parts kit for my OLL off list lower from my local FFL federal firearms license . When I initially DROS'ed dealers record of sale my AR Armalite rifle they told me that LEO's law enforcement officer might consider it an AW assault weapon if they weren't clear on the DOJ department of justice regulations. I'm not too concerned because my AR is just for my BOB bug out bag for when SHTF **** hits the fan or TEOTWAWKI. the end of the world as we know it I wish I had a CCW concealed carry weapon for my FNP-9 <--thats a gun I don't care for, but it's hard to obtain here in CA because of all the FUD Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt."

at work, we actually have a web based program that you give it the acronym and it'll tell you what it means (within our company)...


called acromania. 1 acronym might have 7 or 8 entries.

hahaha, well played crud, but now you can spit the acronyms with the best of them cant you? The beauty of having to learn them is you learn a whole lot about firearms in the process. The only ones I dont know still are the abbreviations of common sayings like "in my opinion" (IMO), but the much harder ones. Anything gun related is easy for me now.

I think a lot of guys on here were/are military so most military people tend to do acronyms and shorten EVERYTHING till it sounds liek a totally different language. You should hear some of the radio traffic I used to deal with. i thought it was bad back then. It literally sounds liek a different language especially if you hear some guys that have been doing it for a while.
