    Ammo Can?

Do any of you fellow CG members know where to find clean, in new condition medium sized ammo cans with a new soft seal? Looking for log time storage.
You can never have to many. Thanks -g

The only place I ever found a good deal on nice ammo cans was at a gun show. You can find them online for less money, but shipping charges on ammo cans will sometimes double or triple the price. At a show you can check them out first to see if they are in good enough condition. The downside is that sometimes you will go to a gun show and there are no ammo can vendors there at all, so you will have wasted the parking and entrance fees unless you have something else to look for at the show. If you have a friend who is going to the show anyway, ask him to check out the ammo can situation for you while he is there so you can decide if it is worth while for you to go.

You can fix up rust spots with some sanding and paint, and add new life to the rubber gaskets with some ArmorAll...

Got a metal yard, (a place that sells metal sheets, bars, etc), near me that sells them. Look in your area for one and you might be surprised.
About $10.00 each and yes they are used. (arnt they all?)
Ammo Bros in cerritos has sold them before, so call around the gun stores and military surplus.

I just got 3 .50 cal cans in like-new condition from firequest.com. $9.99 each. Shipping + handling brought it to $15.50 per can. They have .30 cal too.

Are 50 cal ammo cans really $10 each now?!? Just a couple of years ago they were still $5 at the Cow Palace gun shows. You could sometimes get them 5 for $20 if there were two vendors at the same show. Glad I stock up back then.

There used to be a surplus store in Fremont, not sure what it was called though.
