Took some new people out shooting

Went shooting today on xmas eve and took some new people to firearms out shooting. It was a fun, took my RAA saiga, mossberg 590, and mosin nagant with me and rented a glock 19 at shooter paradise in Oxnard. It was fun, got two people into the gun culture and already talking about buying a gun for the first time.

Just thought i would mention it and convince people to try to reach out to people who have never been shooting before.

I'm very selective who I would reach out to. Some just don't deserve to hold one, let alone fire one. Kinda like motorcycles or cars. Some just don't behind the wheel. I don't know many like that. So ones I trust and are friends (preferrably good friends), I'll take them out to the range. I've not quite converted one (yet) as they have expensive hobbies. So when they hang that up, it'll be shooting for them. The only other person I don't know I let touch my firearms is this guy's kid last week. He's old enough to shoot ARs but under supervision. Kid wanted his dad to put together a tacticool rifle, probably 16" barrel or so with rails and all. He's shot .308 bolt action. I let him take a full magazine of shots on my 24" RRA upper. He was pretty stoked about that. I'm sure he wanted to shoot the Noveske too. LOL But he looked thru my optics (557 and magnifier). Maybe I made a friend with the Dad and kid next I see them. Kid's dad was very interested how to go about getting one and/or putting it together.

Glad to hear you got more people interested in firearms/shooting. I need to do this more often, as it will definitely help the hobby/sport.

It is very important to do, i notice many threads mentioning taking new people to go shooting. I have been doing it on and off with people I go to college with but need to do it more. I am sad to say it has been like 6 months or more since I have been to the range until today. I have been too busy and lack fund to go more.

I think this is a great way to get more people interested in the sport/hobby.

I love introducing friends and family to the shooting culture! My only gripe is that so far I've been a limited to the likes of my girlfriend, father and best friend as most other people I associate with tend to spill beverages on themselves on a daily basis or that can't load AA batterys into a tv controller!

Took my little sister out to shoot my XD9 last week. I'm probably going to take her out to shoot my AR's and AK's early next year.
