New Member Needs Help or Advice for Ammo Purchase Situation

    Hi All,

I have really enjoyed reading the forums, and I have a situation that I would like to ask everyone's advice on.

Century Arms is selling some 7.62x39 ammunition I would really like to purchase (Lapua Mfg. Boxes of 30 - Brass, Berdan, FMJ, non-corrosive). I have not found this ammo on sale anywhere else.

Century will only ship ammo to a FFL (including C&Rs), and will not ship to Orange County or Los Angeles City. I have my C&R FFL, however my home address is in Los Angeles - so I can't have the ammo shipped there.

I share an office in Beverly Hills, which I normally use to receive ammo shipments, but Century will only ship to the address on the C&R, so they will not ship there.

So - I am in a bind. The best ideas I have thought of are either for a local FFL to receive the shipment for me for a fee, or for that FFL to order the ammo and then resell it to me, for which I would pay a reasonable markup to make it worth their time. However, I haven't been able to find any FFLs who are interested in such an arrangement.

Does anyone here have any suggestions or know of an FFL who might be willing to do such a transaction? I don't think there is anything illegal or even questionable about either transaction - just a little unusual due to Century's shipping policies.

    Thank you in advance.

Yeah, that is my problem - I have one friend who is a C&R, too, but he also lives in Los Angeles!

If Century requires a FFL for ammo, that is a VERY new policy (like since July).

I don't know how new it is - I haven't ordered anything from them before. Under their ammo sales policy it says:

"Sales of ammunition in CA to FFL dealers only."

Their policies seem kind of strict.
