    PPT from deceased

Last month my mother died, and I have her .22 pistol. I want to legally transfer it into my name. Would I go to an FFL with a copy of her death certificate?

    Sorry for your loss.

If no one is going to contest your right to inherit the pistol, why not just file an Operation of Law form with $19?

Do you have to do this? what if you have a gun that was your grandpas and he's dead and nobody ever put it in their name?

The requirement for guns to be registered didn't happen till around 92. So there are many handguns that are not registered in California.

So to answer your question all you need to do is send in the form linked above as an intrafamilial transfer is exempt from the requirement to use an FFL, as long as all parties are California residents.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

        and

If you're in a survival movie and the hot blond twists her ankle and can't walk, you damn well figure a way to carry her. If it's a dude, you shake his hand and say "best of luck".

Remember the fine print on both forms says this:

I declare under penalty of perjury (Sections 126 and 672 PC) that all statements made by me on this application are true and complete. I
expressly authorize DOJ to perform firearms eligibility checks of all relevant state and federal databases, including the National Instant
Criminal Background Check System. I also understand that if I currently possess/own firearms and the results of this check reveal that I
am ineligible either to lawfully possess or purchase firearms, I must relinquish any and all firearms in my possession.
