i watched it. very cool to have the snipers talking about the shots they made and even having them try and duplicate the shots.

I set it to record the other day on my DVR. they had the history of the M16 on after that but I have already seen it.

That confused the hell out of me too!

They went over the M16 right after! That was much better, but the sniper thing was pretty damn cool still!

I work at a bank - and I get to meet a lot of interesting dudes. I met one guy was a sniper in the military. I didn't go into shots he made but he was explaining the whole process of drawing up a range card and also that he could get head shots at 1 mile with his .50 cal. friggin sweet.

Watched the sniper show and the M16 one. Very good. Really enjoyed the Inside the Crosshairs. That mile and a half shot the canadian sniper made was amazing.

It was a neat show, I had to record the m16 show and give up the tv for a bit.

Very interesting show. Got to watch it 15 mins in when the sniper in Iraq was describing a battle in Fallujah where he took out a bunch of insurgents. I liked how they attempted to recreate the shots, and explained the variables that go with shooting a perfect shot. One point I found interesting was how a .308 at close range (250 yds) would go through an insurgent clean, but at 500 to 600yds, the bullet would rip/tear a hole through and cause more extensive damage. Another was the green tipped .50 cal rounds that cause an incendiary charge at the point of impact.

I thought it was funny, that when they mentioned "pink mist" the sniper would smile or grin. Or when the Fallujah sniper, after attempting to recreate a shot, bent down to sniff the chamber of his weapon and say "I miss that smell." Or the sniper trick of leaving out the rounds in the sun to allow for better burning of the powder and quicker travel time to the target. Or how the spotter can see the vapor trail and relay quick adjustments to the sniper.

Oh yeah...the LAPD SWAT guy was definitely an idiot for the comments he made.

Definitely a must see episode. I wasn't able to catch the m16 episode right after tho.

Chuck Mawhinney. 103 confirmed and 216 probables. He is the USMC sniper with the most confirmed kills.

No need for redundancy. You only need to call him an idiot once.
