Sig 556, how to pin the stock?

Hey guys, a friend stopped by with his sig 556 and hes looking to find a way to pin the stock on it, hes already got it Bullet buttoned, but needs to pin the folding stock. Anybody here already did this, and if so, can you help me out with the best way to pin it so as to do the least amount of damage to it?

Most people just swap out the folding stock for a telescoping one, which keeps it long enough to be legal. If he doesn't want to do that, then just drill a hole through the "elbow" where it folds and put a pin in place with a little glue for good measure. Should be a 15 minute fix.

not sure what you mean by drill thru the elbow, im looking at it, and theres not really much to pin there, per chance any pics to give me an idea what you mean?

Yeah, there isn't much overlap there, which is why most do the swap thing instead. Sorry no pic, going off memory here, but as I recall the pinned one I saw at a gun show had the pin lined up in such a way as to grab enough "meat" around the pivot point as to securely keep it from pivoting.

Ok, looking at it now, I can see what you are saying. And you sure are correct, theres not alot there to grab ahold of, its going to be a very tight fit as far as drilling a hole there.

Any chance and CGn'ers has pics they can help me out with?
