    Palos Verdes Estates CCW?

I heard a city called Palos Verdes Estates gives out CCW easily because they have their own sheriff department. Is this true? If so I am moving there, I believe it is close to Redondo Beach (where I woke and live now).

I doubt it, but who knows?
I live down the hill and can't imagine PV issuing such a thing

They don't have their own sheriff's department. If there is a sheriff's department, it would be LASD. And, try to get the CCW through the LASD.

Many, many moons ago PV Estates had their own Police Dept. I Don't know if they still do or not.

Palos Verdes Estates has its own police department. It would be nice to move there... if you have several million dollars. I haven't heard anything about the ccw.

Wow... looks a little out of my price range.

Maybe all the calgunners can pool our money and we can get a little shack in Palos Verdes Estates.

topgun is actually correct tho. The OP said "sheriff dept." They instead have their own police dept. If they had contracted with the sheriff's dept. it would have been lasd, since it is within L.A. County. Just a fyi.

My uncle (an engineer for the Air Force) and his wife (a pediatrician) lives there. He always carried a handgun in his person. I assumed it was because he was in service. I have to ask him about the CCW come Xmas time.

PVE isn't gated. Rolling Hills is.

I live in Redondo as well and would be all over a PV CCW if available. Please keep us posted on what you find.

I don't think it would do you any good. A Police Chief can only issue to residents of their city/jurisdiction. In this case, only PV Estates.

I grew up and went to high school in PVE. It is not a gated community but is very upscale. They do have their own police force, my football coach's son was one of the officers. I didn't know anything about CCW while living there but knowing the way the police force interacted with residents it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they easily issue CCW's.

My wife grew up there and my inlaws still live there. I'll ask my father-in-law about it this weekend when we get together for football. But yeah, doesn't help us commoners down the hill much at all I suppose.
