    Flying with guns

I know there's a ton of threads about flying with guns already, but I wasn't able to find an answer to this question:

Is there any limits on how many guns you can put in your checked baggage? I'm thinking about taking a side trip to some gun shops out of state and grabbing some (maybe 15-20) C&R handguns. Plan is to keep the best shooters and also keep the others unless I run into some unforseeable financial problems or something .

I didn't see anything on the TSA website regarding transporting that many handguns, so I'm not sure if I'd run into problems. I wouldn't be surprised if I get hassled quite a bit even if I'm completely within the TSA and airline policies, though. Of course, I'd prefer UPSing it to myself, but from my understanding handguns must go from FFL to FFL regardless of whether you are mailing them to yourself.

Driving back across the border is probably out of the question because of distance.

Mods: If this needs to be moved to the 2A forum please feel free to move (or delete) it as you see fit.

You can UPS or Fedex them to yourself for "hunting or any lawful purpose". To fly with them you need hard sided locked cases for all of them, that might be difficult.

Q: May a nonlicensee ship firearms interstate for his or her use in hunting or other lawful activity?

Yes. A person may ship a firearm to himself or herself in care of another person in the State where he or she intends to hunt or engage in any other lawful activity. The package should be addressed to the owner. Persons other than the owner should not open the package and take possession of the firearm.
