Earlier this year, I placed an order for 2 Kel-Tec SU-16's at Impactguns. They were on backorder like just about everything else firearms related at that time. So, I waited, and waited, and waited. I also kept checking back on their site occasionally. Once, they actually had them in again! But the price was higher. No problemo. I luckily bought at the cheaper price. But, I never got a ship notice. After a few days, I checked again and noticed they were listed as out of stock again. I wondered what the heck happened. Did they get them in and sell them at a higher price? Since I paid less did they bypass me? Was there a long waiting list ahead of me? But that didn't make sense because they never would have listed them again. They should have just filled the backorders. I was getting frustrated because everyone seemed to be getting them in except impactguns. I finally gave up after 6 months of waiting and bought them elsewhere for a little cheaper.
So this Thursday, I decided to buy a Kahr PM9094N from Impactguns because they had it on sale for $699.99 (normally $799.99). It was another "out of stock, accepting orders" situation. But I was in no hurry so it didn't matter that much. But it would've been nice to get one before Christmas. So Saturday, I checked their site and voila! They had them in stock again. But once again, it was at a higher price. They were back up to $799.99. I thought no problemo, I bought it at the sale price. On Sunday, I decided to add a P22 to the order to save on shipping. So I thought I'd call on Monday morning to see if they had shipped my Kahr yet. If not, I thought I'd add the P22 for my wife for Christmas and see how much the shipping would increase.
So I called today and they said they weren't getting any more of the gun I ordered in. I said what are you talking about, you have them in stock right now. She said no, that's a different SKU number. I told her I don't shop by their SKU number, I shop by manufacturers model number. I ordered a PM9094N and you have PM9094N's in stock right now. She checked and said "oh I see, you ordered a used gun. WTF!!! I told her there was nothing listed about being used when I ordered. It was new. And why would a used gun be priced normally at the same price as the new gun? And if it was used but already sold, why would you accept my order? I was getting nowhere with her so she put a supervisor on the phone.
The supervisor told me the same thing as the girl. I ordered a used gun. I told him it said nothing about used. It was new. He said they don't ever use the word "new" on their listings so how would I know. I said because it didn't say USED! We went back and forth to no avail. He wouldn't honor my order for a new PM9094N at $699.99. He would only sell it to me for $799.99. He claimed both the Kel-Tec and Kahr were probably internet listing mistakes by them and as such they shouldn't be responsible for honest mistakes. I see a pattern developing here.
That now makes 2 times this year they have not honored my purchase order. Both times they wanted more money than what my original price was.
Caveat Emptor!
