    painting question

I dont have all the stuff for duracoat, I'm not even 100% positive what all is involved. I just know that I looked up how to do it on youtube and saw a little spray gun and what sounded like an air compressor. I have neither and wont be getting either for awhile. But I was wondering if there are any types of paint in a can that work relatively well for painting plastic stock and forehand guard.

People seem to like Aluma-Hyde II from Brownells.

Idk what local store would carry that Aluma-hyde stuff? anyone know? also I have seen alot of people mention Krylon on certain forums. any input on that? It doesnt have to be super high quality, as it will eventually be replaced with wood.

I used krylon on a buddy SKS with a Dragunov stock and the paint has been on the gun for about 4-5 years now. The only place it even wore out at all was right where his hand grips the gun and its only a small spot. I also did his Remington 700.
Never had a problem with that paint its pretty tough paint

Krylon fusion is made for plastics. Prep is the key with any paint. Aluma hyde 2 is great stuff and pretty easy to use, no mixing and no air brush involved.
If you gp with Aluma hyde 2 get extra nozzles they clog up really easy brownels carries Aluma Hyde2. Your gonna be limited on what you can find locally, another stupid California law says only certian kinds of paint can be purchased in the state now. The environazis strike again

There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

Just make sure you use ventilation protection when you spray if you're going to do a bit of it. There's some funky chemicals in them.
