CA Legal?

Hello;

Was looking at this and thought, would it be legal to own, in CA.

I believe Semi-Auto SG's are limited to 5 rounds, but can you legally posses this 'part' (un-installed on the SG), here in CA.

Shotgun capacity is only limited when you are hunting game birds. This might fall under the heading of revolving cylinder, depends on the internal configuration.

Imported semi-auto shotguns are limited to 5 rounds. If you want to legally increase the capacity to greater than 5 rounds, you have to exchange enough foreign parts for US made parts to be in compliance with Federal 922r.

Due to CA's large capacity magazine ban, unless you are an exempt person, it would be illegal to attach the magazine extension.

It would be legal to own the parts for it, but it would be illegal to attach it because you would be manufacturing a large capacity magazine.

Because the law says so [PC 12020(c)(25)(B)].


Penal Code 12020
(c)(25) As used in this section, "large-capacity magazine" means any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, but shall not be construed to include any of the following:
(A) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds.
(B) A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device.
(C) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

All of the H&K imported Benelli M-1 Super 90 and M-3 Super 90 were imported before 18 USC 922(r) went into affect and are exempt from the 922r parts compliance.

This has nothing to do with it being legal.

The reason why it's legal, is because it has a .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device and .22 caliber tube ammuniton feeding devices are exempt from the large capacity magazine ban.
It does not matter if it is rimfire or centerfire, as long as it's .22 caliber.
