I gave into temptation today. -- Updated

    Today I gave into temptation.

    I bought another firearm.

    It was a 1911

    It was calling my name

    I fought and fought

I begged and pleaded with it, telling it that I couldn't afford it

    But it was for naught

I pick it up 10 days from today.

Now I have to decide which of my monthly bills will have to slide for a cycle to make up for this expenditure.

See what happens when temptation wins...

    ----------------------------------------------
I was able to get my 1911 released from gun jail today.
Rock Island Armory M1911-A1. This has been the oiliest pistol I have ever purchased.

Question: Are all 1911 magazines interchangeable with each other? ( brand and specific model)

Peace demands solutions, but we never reach living solutions; we only work toward them. A fixed solution is, by definition, a dead solution. The trouble with peace is that it tends to punish mistakes instead of rewarding brilliance.

    Well, what kind of 1911?

    I do know the feeling.

Dont worry, they will send you another bill. They never send you a 1911.

Armscor (RIA) 1911. I looked at others like Springfield and Kimber as well. However I wanted a no-frills basic model that I can tweak on and slowly upgrade over time as my competency with this model improves.

This temptation you speak about, sounds very familiar. I've fallen prey to its calling more than a few times. Don't worry it only gets worse and you get older so deal with it and enjoy the ride.

I've been told I have large hands so I needed something that would at least extend down to the end of my fist.

My Ruger p95 when held one handed doesn't clear the bottom of my fist, my pinky rests on the end of the magazine baseplate. I had to buy the extended baseplates for my Glock 22

I practically consider it my duty to buy one firearm a month, but it's a pleasure too!
