    Lower Receivers

Just a heads up for anyone who wants one of the Calguns lower receivers: There was a vendor at the Del Mar gun show today selling them (they are Kaiser Defense as you might know) for $99 (AR15).

I can't recall the vendor, but he is on the on the opposite side of the hall from the Calgun booth and on the end cap. His table faces the opposite wall from Calguns' booth.

Just thought I'd let people know.

It wasn't by chance JD Machine Tech (formerly KD)?

I honestly don't know, sorry. I don't even recall looking up at the sign. I just was walking by, looked at the receiver and noted that I could see the Calgun logo. I've heard about them, but had never seen one before.

No worries, I've just heard that JD Machine is still sitting on lots of their KD marked lowers, including the Calguns lowers and they have been moving them at clearance prices.

Now that I think about it though, I believe Riflegear was selling the Calguns lowers at that price as well...

Well, I just wanted to put it out there for the members who might be going tomorrow and were looking for a good, less expensive lower.

I, like a lot of others who didn't have any AR, bought one in Feb., thinking it would become unaffordable or banned. I paid $147 for a LRB, which wasn't really a bad price, but if I had waited, I could have had one with a Calguns logo made by Kaiser. Oh well, that's life.

I understand where you are coming from, that price is a steal and they are good looking lowers. Shoot I paid more for my Mega's last year before the scare. You cant do wrong with getting that lower.

                Hello,

Therefore, you people are saying that Cal guns were selling Lowers for the AR-15 at a gun show.

There is a gun show here in Fresno in February; do you think they will be there?

I would love to buy a lower and do a build when the economy gets better.

So I guess I can buy a lower at the Fresno gun show in February and they do the paper work?

What is a good lower to buy?

Calguns themselves were not selling the lowers but another Vendor that was on the opposite side of the room. The Venders name was http://www.jdmachinetech.com/index.html , I would give them a call and see if they were planning on attending the Fresno show. I know they were selling the Calguns Lowers at that price because they were trying to sell off the old stock of Kaiser Defense items to change over to thier new name, JD Machine Tech

Everyone who is a member of Calguns should own at least one of these.

When you think about it, since the lower is $99 and $20 goes to Calguns, the lower is really only $79.

I just picked up one of each from riflegear. At $99 each and the $20 donation, I couldn't find any reason NOT to!

Therefore, it sounds like these would be good quality lowers to have. Thank you

I just emailed them to see if they are coming in February.

I love all the info on this forum

I should buy one for me and my 19 yr. old son,

Ca. may outlaw the receivers some day, and not let my AR be grandfathered over to him.
So I should put one in his name correct? – Just thinking aloud.

You must be 21 to purchase a stripped lower, however you could purchase several lowers for yourself and then at a later date use the family transfer to gift one to your son.

ETA: Someone with a knot in their panties may come along shortly and decry that what I have mentioned above would be considered a straw purchase and therefor illegal. YMMV.
