I was wondering if anyone can direct me to a couple areas in the Los Padres national forest where I can target shoot without going to a range. I know theres the Winchester Canyon Gun Club up there off the 154 but I would rather not have to deal with a range. Shooting was banned during fire season, but as it has now rained, fire season is over and shooting is again ok. Someone told me of a couple places off the 154 that are popular spots for shooting and are legal, but cant seem to remember where they were. If any knows these spots, please share. Thank you!

Top of the San Marcos pass, make a right onto East Ciello Camino. Go roughly 7 miles. As you come to a sweeping left curve, you will see the shooting area. Large rocks mark the line, and if it isn't shot to pieces or burned up, a sign is right at the entrance.
PLEASE clean up any target you take up, and if you pick up more trash than you brought, everyone will be happier
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero
