    80% receiver anodizing?

I was thinking of finishing an 80% receiver. Wondering what it will cost me to get it anodized.

I work in a machine shop in the Bay Area. Lot charge runs 60-80 bucks depending on where you take it.

Do these shops have an ffl? Will they do colors other than black? Tell us more!

I doubt most plating shops have an FFL. Colors shouldn't be a problem.

So do you just " loan" it to them while they are working on it, or am I missing something? Having to hang out the whole time could be a bummer.

an 80% receiver is just a hunk of metal.

You are gonna anodize it then machine it? Might look kinda funny...

Anodize it AFTER it's complete or else the machined area will still be "silver".

Regarding "loaning" the receiver, just sit in their shop and watch them do it, don't leave.

But I'm gonna try doing it myself at home, the instructions online seems pretty straight forward.
