    Fumigation gun finishes and ammo.

The condo is getting tented Friday. Should I leave the guns and ammo in their safes?

Just to keep em' safe or because of the chemicals? There will be security guards 24 hours.

          it wont harm anything.

Think about it, the fumes dont harm anything else in your house (dishes, refrigerator, sofas, etc but you think it will hurt the finish on your weapons?

If its a security thing, then yea I would take them.

Personally, i feel safe with the tent on there and leaving my guns in my safe

That's what I was leaning towards.

Do you think the fumes would have any effect on reloading components, powder or primers?

A couple of years ago, there was a string of burglaries of tented homes in my area.

If there is on-site security 24/7, then I wouldn't be overly concerned if you trust the security guard. Some SG's are more smarmy than the contractors.
Personally, I'd take 'em with me, and leave the safe blocked open so anyone who does get in can see that it's empty and doesn't try to pry it open.

My wife worked for a fumigation company as a office manager. She said that you have to open the safe for them to see inside. The only reason they want to look inside is to see if youhave a person in there. i guess one time some guy stuffed his wofe in a safe and then had the house tented.
I had a fumigation. i opened the safe they looked inside then I closed it. Granted it was my wifes company that did the fume and i knew the guy that was the licensee that was gonna fumigate the house. buddyof mine.
All that said i would take the guns with me. The fumes will have no effect on the finish stocks ammo or anything. its more of a security precaution.
Also anyone going in after the gas is released does not have a lot of time to get anything. its not liek the movie joe dirt where he jsut sort of gets all high. You will die shortly after entering without protective breathing aparatus
Thats the reason they lock houses with their own locks that go over your locks. people have been known to go in houses and kill themselves by asphyxiation

you dont understand dude. I jsut asked my wife again and she said

They cannot fume the house if you wont open the safe. if you leave a car in the garage the guy needs to look in the car AND the trunk of the car so the car needs to be unlocked. They look EVERYWHERE in the house even the attic or crawl space if you have one.She said this is a state law. And she said the reason for that is because someone could be hiding a body in the car safe or attic. Now if the safe is too small to place a person in then you dont need to open it. She also said that theyhave a lot of problems with people letting them look in a safe ( she said ESPECIALLY COPS). She also said that she has cancelled jobs due to to the customer not wanting to let them look inside car safe etc.
And unless you have some super duper secret spy way of hiding the safe theire gonna find it and ask you to open it to see.
ive been in multi million dollar houses installing security systems and ive had customers get all paranoid on me when im there to fix something. I jsut tell them they can either have me fix it or go with it broken their choice. I tell them i am licensed and bonded with the state. if someone breaks in the FIRST person the cops are gonna come visit in my house and work.
losing my license going to jail for a measly gun or 10 k in cash you got stashed in your safe is REALLY REALLY not worth it to me in no way shape or form. I only had one customer turn me away. i was there iwth my project manager ( black guy) and she opened the door and slammed it in our face. She demanded to know who we were. then she called our company and told my boss she doesnt want a bunch of ni**ers in her house. My boss called us and said turn around and take off. I found out later he sold her account to ADT.
