New to Forum - Why aren't SOLD posts Deleted or Removed?

I apologize for anybody I offend for posting this here.

I am new to the forum so could someone please explain why the "SOLD" firearms are not removed from the Sales page.

It makes it very frustrating for a person look to buy to find that 3/4 of all posts are already sold.

I could understand if the sale price was listed as to give a resource to other buyers and sellers but they are not.

Thank you in advance for your explanations.

Most of us like it them to stay on, as the provide a reference of what has been sold and for what amount.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

      I feel the opposite.

While I feel that the thread title should be edited to indicate "sold", I'd prefer that the threads not be deleted AND that the OP not edit the original post to remove content.

Completed sale threads are a good shopping tool to help a buyer or seller determine what the current market is, particularly for a gun that you don't see sold frequently.

I agree with that, however, I don't see any SOLD ads with a price. Am I wrong?

I also see a lot of ads that say SOLD in the post but not on the title.

Just a SOLD on the title is always nice. But that's just me.

Like I said... that's my complaint.
After the sale, the seller edits the original post to
"Really nice gun $SOLD to JoeSchmoe"

It would be more useful if they would do:
"Really nice gun $500 SPF SOLD to JoeSchmoe"

Changing or editing the OP is critical.

              1) To change the title to SOLD (which does not get done nearly often enough)

              2) The final selling price or Trade is not always the same as what was originally posted for many different reasons.

              3) Respecting privacy rights of the two key elements of the particular purchase is paramount. The Buyer and the Seller have far more involvement than any perceived right to use such information as a future shopping/pricing guildline. Besides the volatile gun prices over the last few years makes that sort of thinking pretty much obsolete anyway. There are other sources for such guidance without invading the wishes of the buyer/seller.

What should be addressed is the constant bumping of a thread to say that the item has been SPF and then again to inform everyone it is sold. No need for that. If you sold it, great, just mark it sold. Do what editing you or the other party requests and Change the title of the thread to include SOLD. No need to reply to a SOLD item thread and push current running threads down the page. As long as there remain items for sale, sure bump the thread. But once closed why does it need to come back to the top of the page again?

I've attempted to use the SOLD threads to reference as well, but a very large amount of them just say SOLD and they remove the price. If the item is SOLD and there's no listed price the thread should be deleted.

I completely agree. I also agree about no need to have the thread posted at the top again.

-Point of reference for those who want to know market prices

I usually edit my FS ads and add "Sold" but usually leave the price. Even with all of that I still get PMs asking if xyz is still for sale 6 month after the fact.

If they are deleted how will you bring up a 2 year old necropost and ask if its still available

it is very frustrating to go through an entire post only to find out you have just wasted your time.

Go through an entire post? Whats that take ,30 seconds?
If they want to erase the add and such thats theyre choice. A referance for price? Or a referance for the contninual unrealistic low balling?? Also noting I personally dont like people knowing what I buy. Who would? Unless youre one of those trying to compensate for some insecuirty by buying the meanest looking black rifle you can and slinging tons of useless (as if youll EVER be in combat)crap on it ..Otherwise keeping it confidential is smart .Its not as if everyone on here is honest and has a clean background..
