Pelican Cases?

I have Pelicans and Starlite cases (I have a smaller Pelican carbine/small rifle case, and the larger big-arsed Starlite for big guns: the Starlite can hold a FAL, a fullsize AR, mags, accessories and a Glock 21. I fly to Oregon with the Starlite.(
The Pelicans seem a tad lighter. I think the Starlite might take more abuse, esp one trip where the Starlite got a gouge on it that might have been worse on the Pelican.
Oh - when I fly with a rifle case I wrap a belt or two around it just in case it somehow pops open. The TSA folks are very nice about refastening the belts after inspection.

Pelicans crack rather easily. Drop a loaded one on the corner from about 4 feet. Stormcases will take more abuse without being destroyed in this fashion. It's true that the Stormcases are slightly softer material, but the Pelicans are just too brittle.Comment

I have a few Pelican cases but in the real expensive rifles I have ZERO cases.
They are famous for their work in aircraft components as well as high tech applications.
Keep in mind the cases that I purchased were custom made and cost a lot more than your average Pelican or Storm case.
