Futureweapons on Discovery Channel?

I think the show trys too hard to make the host look like a modern rambo (ie. If anyone can shoot the target at 600 yards, he can) and I agree, sometimes they overstate the capabilities of the weapons (when they were firing the new type of rpg, it blew up a temporary structure made up of cinderblocks and the show tried to make it seem like it would do the same to regular buildings that have steel supports...) All in all though, it is pretty cool to see the new weapons (I'm dying for an AS50)either start being proactive or leave the state. The longer you're here, and waiting for bills to pass, the less rights you will have. -
what i love are some of these "future weapons" aren't very "future"...
AH-64 Apaches?
B-2 bombers?
F-22 Raptors?
A freakin' SMAW?

If the writers are making mistakes and he's not correcting them he's just as at fault for going along with them.
To me the guy is a tool, his over acting is atrocious. The only thing that kinda makes up for it is seeing some cool weapons.50 BMG Shooters http://50-bmg.com/forum/index.phpComment

I remember that one. It seemed to me like they were stating it would do that to the type of buildings our soldiers are running up against in Iraq. I am no expert but I do not think there are many buildings insurgents will be hiding in with steal supports.Originally posted by brighamrI think the show trys too hard to make the host look like a modern rambo (ie. The guy is a bit of an over actor and he does make a few mistakes. All in all I like the show, it can be interesting. That crazy English guy that is always on the show is very interesting. He is always using water to either enhance or destroy explosives.Comment

With API or HE it is possible to blow up vehicles. Pecission shot placement to the fuel system, and/or ammo supply could cause a detonation.
Amateurs train until they get it right. Professionals train until they can't get it wrong.Comment

I think the term used was disable not blow up and yes a well places shot from a 50 bmg can disable an apc.Comment

I loved it when they were testing the "Dragon Skin" armor. The dude stated that "this body armor survived multiple hits from 5.56x45, 7.62x39 and EVEN 9MM!!!"

Last nights show featured the block 30 version of the B-2 Barrett and, the new Crackatowa (SP??) directional charge (REALLY cute Irish Navy chick on the show!!)
and they also had a decent segemnt on the new .416 Barret round.. the way this bozo was talking he made it sound like the military already changed over to it and that it is a 'very deadly military round'. Look to see this caliber demonized as a terrorist's caliber of choice for shooting down airplanes soon by the anti's......................

Cute?!?! Are you serious? I turned to my wife and said "They should have picked a better looking woman".
I was all excited about the "new round" they were going to talk about then I heard it was the 416 and all my hopes just fell to the ground
. There is nothing new about that round for any shooter with a computer or magazine stand close by. I also loved how they put the 50BMG in a semi-auto and the 416 in a bolt action and put them head to head in a accuracy shootout. I wonder which will win?
The host bugs me because of his overacting. Dude, you don't have to sound tough and so black-op all the time. Sure, be excited about the items but don't report it like this is the first time human eyes have ever seen such a thing."Calling an illegal alien a "undocumented worker" is like calling the drug dealer hanging around outside your kid's school an "unlicensed pharmacist."Comment

So tough, it can take a hit from a depleted uranium tank sabot, or even the feather duster this little girl Molly is holding as she sleeps soundly in her mother's arms!Originally posted by anothertedI loved it when they were testing the "Dragon Skin" armor.
