I wish you guys would carry Saigas. I asked a gentleman behind the counter at the Fountain Valley store if he thinks you Turners would ever stock them, and he said "No way! Way too grey area, and the DOJ won't give a definitive answer whether they are legal or not."Comment

This would be a great addition, especially at a competitive price. Not the $100+ that was being charged when it was allowed.
Remember that any extra transactions in the store can always lead to other purchases.I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

I had a recent great experience at the W. Covina and Signal Hill stores. I wanted to buy a Leupold 4x handgun scope in matte finish. Signal Hill had the scope in silver. They checked inventory and found one in W. Covina. When I got there and asked about the scope it was already at the cashier's counter and discounted 60 bucks. Thanks Turner's.

Hello Matt,
I found a receipt for a Ruger Speed Six I bought from your store back on August 13, 1989. Of course, you were on Francisquito at that time.
Regretfully, I run 'Hot and Cold' with your customer service, or lack thereof.
I last visited a couple of weeks ago when you had the Maverick shotguns for $199. I had the incredible 'misfortune' of dealing with 2 of your gun counter clerks. I did not bother to remember either name because they gave me no reason to want to remember them.
The first guy was younger and really tall. He started helping me and mysteriously walked away when a 50'ish guy walked over and started talking to my son. I have been interested in a Dan Wesson PM7, my son a Springfield XD 45. We were both interested in the Maverick. I found your clerk to be very talkative. He was really great at telling us everything except what we asked him. He definitely felt he was smarter than we were. He told me all about how he unloaded all of his 1911's for plastic guns. He just thought they were a whole lot better. I finally asked to see the Maverick. He pulled out something with a tactical stock. I pointed to the ad and explained that did not look like the Maverick in the ad. He glanced at the rack and said they often do not send the ad guns in right at the start of the ad. No effort to check stock or find out for sure if you had the gun you were advertising. I was so disgusted, I told him I would come back later in the week. I never did.
Luckily for me, I travel to both Chino Hills and Pasadena. I do not find the same attitude at either of those stores. Chino Hills sold me my Bersa Thunder last year. One of the guys in Pasadena really knows 1911's. I will probably buy my next gun from him.
My son and I both agreed that your genius of a clerk had failed to answer a single direct question. He was busy showing my son (a military vet) how to drop the slide on the XD by pulling back on the slide before releasing the slide latch. He was concerned about breaking the latch. I usually realease the slide on an empty chamber by holding the slide until it is fully dropped (slowly, not slammed). In his very wise tone, he told me I would 'stovepipe' every time. I guess he feels that my gun store technique with empty guns is no different from my range technique with loaded guns.
I am telling you this story for one reason only. Your 'genius' of a clerk accomplished his task. He made sure I left your store without leaving any money behind. I was also surprised that he was 'downselling'. The DW PM7, if you could get it, is over $1,100.00. The XD and the Glocks are $500 to $600 right now.
If you want to increase your sales, you might start with customer satisfaction. You are one of only a few dealers I know who has actually been around for over 20 years. You have an advantage if you know how to use it. Train your gun salepeople to actually listen to the customers. Buy them a book by Dale Carnegie called 'How To Win Friends and Influence People' and insist they read it if they want to stay on the schedule. Carnegie's message is simple. The best speakers must first become the best listeners.
Until you do this, I'll spend by time and money at your other locations.
Good luck.

I guess I should have gone to your store instead of Norwalk on friday. I wanted one of the Kershaw knives that were on sale and when I got there, was told there weren't any left. This was about 8:30 and to top it off, another guy came after me and got one!"I've always followed my father's advice: he told me, first to always keep my word and, second, to never insult anybody unintentionally. If I insult you, you can be damn sure I intend to. And, third, he told me not to go around looking for trouble."~ John Wayne ~When they come a wull staun ma groon...

Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
