I've heard bad things so I never went. OC Indoor Range in Brea, however, is a great range that I visit regularly. Check them out: www.ocindoorrange.com

      Stay away from that place.

      I'd like to recommend:

      OC Indoor Range (Brea)
      The Firing Line (Huntington Beach)
      OC Sheriff's Range (Orange)
      On Target (Laguna Niguel)

Evan's is great; central to OC, comparably priced, indoor shotgun space is also available. One of the guys behind the counter can be a bit preachy and quite smug at times, but other than that a good spot.

I've been there ~5 or 6 times, what are some of the bad things?

I know that was not directed me but, unfortunately I did that search and came away with way to many hit's for "Gunsmithing" to be of value. You guys have convinced me to stay away but I would like more insight if anyone has it

I don't work there but I do shoot there quite often. I bought a membership $300 somthing for 13 months, I have no problems with anyone there, I hear people in the past have had problems with evan, but he has not been there for over 3 years

My last experience was back in 2002, so things may have changed. However, never had I experienced such a condescending attitude as I had at Evans. One of those "I'll never step foot in there again" experiences come to mind, to date I've kept my word.

in the old days, had you gone to their range and asked for information regarding Off-Listed rifles or Rimfire Black Rifles, he/staff would completely berate you and spout all sorts of rhetoric, empty legal threats, and police action.

This was followed by more banter about how his store is the only legal outlet for distributing these types of rifles.

In addition, they had been known to be completely rude to any one asking to patron the range with any of those types of guns.

I've been told off by one of the staff before, so I haven't stepped in since 05. But I was only a kid back then and I probably didn't appear to be worth their troubles. Even if it was simple questions.

Went to Evan's twice earlier this year and I thought the staff was friendly. However, I thought their gun rental selection and pricing sucked.

Another recommendation for OC Indoor Range - everybody that works there is friendly and their ammo prices (for decent reloads) aren't that bad.

I never had any troubles there, especially if just shooting handguns.

I shoot at Evan's. I've had pretty good experience with the staff there.
