    E! Channel's "Going Postal: Violence"

    Thumbing through the channels I decided to watch the E! Channel's "Going Postal" show. Basically, it's a top 15 of gun rampages. Guess who's on there...Paul Helmke. I don't think I've ever seen so much B.S. propaganda on one show ever. According to Helmke every single situation was caused by laxed gun laws. Every single one of them. One of the shootings happened in the U.K. in 2005, and Helmke jumps in there with "there were 25 shootings in the U.K. in 2005 and there are 32 shootings in America every day". Like America and the U.K. are the same size and have the same size population. Then he says "see, in the U.K. they took measures to insure this would never happen again, unlike the United States". Really, Paul? I thought guns were completely erased from the landscape there in 1997. What an idiot.

    Vote for pro-gun candidates, or lose your rights, and the rights of future generations. That's it. The end.

    Not erased completely.

    Handguns were banned in 1997, but can only be obtained if you can prove a need to humanely dispatch animals, but this is quite tightly controlled (ie. country vets, etc). Centerfire semi-auto long guns were banned in 1989.

    It is legal for a licensed UK citizen to own :
    • Bolt action, single shot, or lever action centerfire long guns with a Firearms Certificate (FAC).
    • Pump action and Semi-Auto shotguns with minimum of 24" barrel and non-detachable magazine (max. 2+1 capacity with a shotgun license, or 4+1 with a FAC).
    • Antique firearms and muzzle loaders.
    • .22 Rimfire semi-auto or pump-action long guns (eg. GSG-5, GSG-47, Colt Umarex M4 .22LR are all legal)
    • Suppressors.

    Life can make you do many things, even kiss a man with a runny nose.

      Watching shows like that just make me wonder how people can still argue against shall-issue CCW.
      God, grant me the serenity
      To accept the things I cannot change;
      The courage to change the things I can;
      And the wisdom to know the difference.

          Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
