Every now and then, there's an ad on CL for ammo or other gun parts. They're usually not there long as some tree hugger flags it for it's evil content. Anyhow, I found a guy selling a ton of 223 for $80. It was all mil-surp. I got it home and began looking at the head stamps. Most of it was marked "L C 85". There were a bunch of soft points marked "W C C 82". Not bad for $80.

I saw 10 boxes of 100 federal for 100 not sure if thats good or bad.. I don't have a rifle.

Unless the OP thinks bullets weigh in at 1lb, giving him 2k.

Sounds like the WCC82 softpoint are reloads. Be careful with someone else's reloads.

Weigh one on a digital scale. Take it apart and see how much powder is in it. If it is the proper amount for the round, weigh the others one at a time to ensure none of them got double filled. Not the most fun you could have, but it is better than blowing up a rifle with a hot load.

Sorry, a ton for me is about 800 rounds. I am a little leery of the SPs which I'll be looking over very carefully, but the FMJs I figure are safe to shoot. The total number of FMJs is about 650 which for $80 was a great deal for me.
