NEED HELP FINDING A QUICK BIRTHDAY GIFT

Hey folks,

my buddies Birthday is coming uP this week (Thanksgiving Day to be exact), and I am in the air about what to give him.

I have three little gifts in mind, but would like your opinions.



CASPIAN ARMS POCKETSMITH 2

G&G BOLT CLEANER TOOL

CAT M-4 TOOL


The Caspian Arms "Pocketsmith 2" seems pretty cool, but I don't know how much he would probably use it. He's shot AR's for many years, and has lived OK without one since then.

The G&G Bolt Cleaner seems to be a pretty cool tool, and it looks like he would probably get the most use of this, than the other two tools.

The CAT M-4 also looks pretty cool, but it looks kinda simple and small, and looks like it can be easily lost in the tool box.

So wadda you think?

Of the three, I pretty much have them in this order:

1) G&G Bolt Cleaner
2) Caspian Arms Pocketsmith2
3) CAT M-4 Tool

I'll be making the order tomorrow, Monday the 23rd...so you gotta respond before then.

but I would like to give him something that I can PHYSICALLY hand over. (No, no, no...I'm not gonna physically hand over a gift certificate).

As for a tarantula, he's got plenty. I think he has around 10 of them at the moment. He also collects the largest and most aggressive ones. He also had a white throat monitor a few years ago that grew almost 6 feet long. (I can show you the whip marks on my leg to prove it).

Just looking for a cool little "sumpin-sumpin" to show my shooting partner that I remembered his Birthday. We're both 44 years old, and I've known him since we were 14 years old.

What a nice friend!! That is very cool of you to do that for your friend.

It was really nothing if you look at our friendship in the grand scheme of things.

We've been through a lot of different things in our short years here on earth. (We're both 44 years old...err...umm...he'll be 44 this month).

His mother and father pretty much raised me. And I am one of the few people in his life that can say I had the HONOR of knowing his father before he passed away. (He passed away when we were 18 years old). I knew his father really well, and as a matter of fact, his father was the man that pushed me to join the Army when I was newly graduated from high school at 17-years of age. (I turned 18 in basic training).

Funny, but I remember his father telling us stories about his Army days when we were kids. He was a pretty hard-core guy, and was in the Special Forces (don't know which field) during the Vietnam conflict. I also joined the Army, and was a Ranger for the last 6 years of my 10 year enlistment.

I can honestly say, that in my whole life, I can count my true friends on my right-hand fingers. (Three others were team members).

In life you come across many "acquaintances". (People you will meet, and even hang -out with for a few years). But a TRUE FRIEND will never leave you, and will still be there after the test of time.

When you look back and realize who your true friends really are...you will cherish them, and the times you spent in fellowship.

You cannot put a price on that.

It's not the gift. It is the thought that I remembered him.

Yea...I guess I am honored to have a good friend.

Very cool story. There are just a couple life long friends in my 'inner sanctum' as well. When you come across those folks they are more like family than friends. Good for you guys!!

We're both reloaders,

and I know for a fact that my pardner was loaded with bullets. (He purchases Bear Creek bullets en masse). And when we were shooting this weekend, he was pretty stocked-up.

I know...I know...how can you ever have too much?

But I think I did good. He'll like his new gadget.

The tool should be here by Monday of Tuesday, as G&G Tools are not too far from me.
