Selling guns with low round counts

So many gun sales go up here for guns shot anywhere from 20 to 500 times.

Lots of these are super nice weapons.

I wonder...why? Why sell a perfectly good gun when it hasn't even been shot with the proper love and affection?

    Needs money.
Did not like the feel of it. Hard to buy without testing, thus used sales.
Buyaholic- likes to buy a new gun all the time.. but needs money out of the old one.

Maybe it turns out it's something we dont really like, or found something better, or maybe just hard times.

A few months ago I sold to Ade an NIB unfired Winchester M70 30-06 that I bought on sale at Turners 3 years ago. Figured I would probably never use it since I got a Remy in the same caliber, so I got rid of it and got something I really wanted. Hopefully it went to someone who could put it to use and not getting dusty in a safe like when I owned it.

        Ah, I 'spose.

The new gun thing must be an expensive syndrome with depreciation and fees.

I hope my 3 current arms die a slow death from over shooting

Well, when you've been around long enough, you'll eventually buy that gun that "Seemed so great in the store..."

My reason for selling guns are usually to fund others. Sometimes I don't like them or don't play with them anymore. If they don't get used they have to go.

There are all sorts of reasons why people sell guns. You can't pinpoint it to any one thing really. All the reasons mentioned above and then some....

Well, sometimes they try to sell lower receivers they bought on impulse for way too many $

Or, it could just be some people lie about round counts.

Although, I actually do have a couple of pistols that have less than 500 rds down the pipe, but I'm not selling them.
If you shake the gun and parts fall out, then I would imagine "50 down the pipe" would be somewhate conservative, but generally if you know where to look, it seems pretty easy to see if it's even close to being true.

some are collectible and will command higher prices than paid for it.

Some, Like the three I am selling, are safe queens that no longer fill a niche I want filled. My tastes in 1911's has changed a bit. I am moving in a new direction there. One of them is a duplicate (in features/ operation) to one I shoot frequently. One I bought because of the beauty of the finish but it is just too pretty to shoot, so I have not shot it all that much. And one I got on a trade thinking I would like it as much as I like the same gun in my compact version...I don't.

Now I could keep all three and still get what I want, but why? I would rather sell them to someone that will use them and help offset my costs on the ones I am looking for. I normally don't keep track of how many rounds I shoot out of each gun, but on those three, I happen to know the approximate counts.

My tastes in cars and motorcycles has changed over years, why not guns as well?
