Heard some scuttlebutt that they are building a facility here in East San Diego.

    Anybody have any more info?

Take my advice and skip the blackwater training unless you are military. There is far better personal defense training for your dollar in this area.

Not sure it would make a whole lot of sense to have something like that here in CA with the AW laws and all....see a bunch of go fast low drag guys with 10 rd. pinned mags would be kind of funny though....haha.

        Hey BW
Who would you recommend in the west?
        Thanks

How much do you want to spend? Front sight is the best around here IMO, but the prices are SUPER high, around $500 per day. If you are in the LA there are several smaller trainers locally that charge $100-150 per day that are very good.

In the LA area Bill Beasley and his guys teach some great classes to all skill levels. The Burro Canyon shoot house trips are definitely worth the price and trip up from SD.

What about some good instructional DVD sets?

I understand 1 on 1 training is superior. However, I am sure instructional DVD's would have their place as well.

+1 for Scott Reitz. BTW he has some good instructional DVD's that go hand and hand with the actual training.

From the ITTS website. What is wrong with this statement?

Our philosophy is that anyone who is a law-abiding citizen and is willing to be safe and responsible with a firearm has the right to own and use a firearm for personal protection.
I understand the sentiment, but it sounds like they are advocating for a conditional RTKB.

It would be more appropriate to say:

Our philosophy is that law-abiding citizen exercising their right to own and use firearms should be properly trained in their safe handling and use for personal protection.

Not that I want to put works in anyones mouth, but at least that is my philosophy.

Yeah, you worded it much better. Plus your statement leads into a sales pitch for their course.
