Purchasing a Rifle with something on background

Alright heres the deal...Father wants to purchase a rifle but unsure of ONE item on his background.

Father has a misdemeanor charge for posession of meth. It was not of a "dealing" amount. It is on his record but during the court case the judge dropped the charges. This was about 3 years maybe more ago.

So what do you think his chances are of clearing DOJ?
If he does not clear what are some other options?

    Thank you in advance.

F**k the boating accident. If it's time for a "boating accident" it's time to start F'n shootin.

He should pass the DOJ background check as that is not a prohibiting offense. If he were addicted to drugs, that would be a problem:

If he wants to test the waters first, he can do a Personal Firearms Eligibility Check through DOJ:

      Dropped the charges to what?

From "Intent to Distribute to Possession" or from "Possession to Lesser Charge".

the final resultant is "What were you CONVICTED" of, not what you were charged with.

Some of us would be screwed if it was "what have you been charged with".

Thank you gentleman. No need for further. I did some research CA pc code 12021 says nothing against posession of 11377

        thanks.
