    CLOSEST COLOR TO MATCH FDE

So whats the closest spray on color should I look for to match an FDE? and where to buy it? And those that are for metal or wood, would it stick to plastics or rubber?
I've been to Home Depot and OSH but I can't find any that matches the sample I brought along.

FDE is so 2008. I paint everything American Standard Nutmeg these days.

    I'm only half joking.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.

If you have an airbrush set up, Duracoat sells a few FDE variants. Magpul and Vltor come to m ind as options. There are a few more I can;t remember. check out the Duracoat website and see what they have for you.

In my experience, Duracoat is outstanding for plastics. Rubber, not so much, but I don;t think many paints will stay on rubber very well.

Agreed, Duracoat is the best but I dont think it will be economical if I'm only planning to spray paint a couple of little items like rail covers and VFG.

I wonder if a mix of light brown and khaki will give it a darker shade or come close to FDE?

Well, browsing at Brownells site, I did'nt see FDE colors. Oh well, maybe I'll check out the gun show on Cow Palace next weekend, I might find what I need and just be done with it.

                  Thanks for the input guys.

I would have thought 'Coyote' would be fine.
