    Off list gun at gunshop want to buy - questions

    There's a walther-pps at a gunshop in another county. It's used - only 50 rounds through it. I want to buy it. How's the process work? I live in sacramento. i spoke with an FFL and he told me he's not sure how to receive it because if it's private party - and just on consignment then he said I would have to complete the transfer most likely in the store 6 hours away.

    I asked if it was a used gun, but that the store owned it, like purchased it or took it in trade from a LEO or a person who legally brought it in out of state - could he receive it up here then? He wasn't sure.

    Anybody know?

    I believe we (normal citizens) cannot purchase any non-rostered handguns any way except through FTF with the owner (whether it be LEO, out of state, etc.).

      The only way the gunshop can transfer the PPS to you is via a cosignment/PPT transfer. The handgun can not be shipped to your local FFL, because at that point it would no longer be a PPT/consignment transfer.

      Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

              FTF = Face to Face
              LEO = Law Enforcement Officer (police, etc.)
              FFL = Federal Firearms License (dealer basically)
