Fake Magpul MS2 sling??!!

So recently I purchased a Magpul MS2 sling from a fellow calgunner, and another from a licensed Magpul dealer. After comparing the two, I've found some differences. The seller promised it was an authentic magpul and not a replica. As of now, I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that multiple versions were made.

Hmm... That does look pretty different. I know Magpul licensed their MBUS to an airsoft company in Hong Kong to make. Hopefully for you, its just a different variant of the legitimate MS2 sling.

Their new BUIS' comes in 2 versions. Airsoft and and the real deal. Wonder of the slings are the same?

One looks a bit "cheaper" than the other...And Magpul does have an airsoft division or "simulated training" is the fancy name or something like that.

Either way...You can't be sure the seller knew it wasn't a real Magpul sling or intentionally sold you a replica can you? they do appear to be very close.

In addition, Magpul is never consistent. They always have a high demand for their products and are always in a hurry to produce more. Another point is that maybe the seller got it at a Dynamics class before the Ms2 was in actual production...maybe it was one of the first few. They always give out stuff at the classes, that was how so many people got MBUS before they were in production...

There is a MS2 sling made by Magpul PTS(the airsoft parts maker licensed by Magpul), however it has MAGPUL PTS Labeled right on the sling, not the MAGPUL DYNAMICS label on the two you have. It also has green colored stitching on the sling. There aren't any other copies that I'm aware of as Magpul/Magpul PTS is quite active in defending their trademark in the Airsoft world.

The MS2 sling is not a true production item from Magpul yet, and because of that there should be some differences as they source parts from multiple companies.

The MS2 right now is being produced by Magpul from COTS parts while they are in the process of getting everything produced in-house.

Until the MS2 goes into full in-house production, you'll most likely see some differences in their slings depending on when they were made. And the regular production one will probably look even more different.
