    The CMP store in Anniston

Is it worth the 120 mile round-trip?

I'll be in Douglasville next week, and have a Saturday free. It's either the CMP store, or 25 miles to the Eastman's gun show.

Any thoughts? I'm sorely tempted, but don't know which one would be better.

Go to whichever you're most likely to find what you're looking to buy, but correct answer is BOTH!!!

I heard from a reliable shooter that the Camp Perry store had been seriously picked over. All the better grades were gone. Maybe call Anniston to check first. Good luck!

Both... assuming they aren't completely different directions... its always better to take the scenic route...

Anniston is a good stop, but you won't find anything better there than what you'll get through the mail (for the most part). You can "cash and carry" or they'll ship it home for you. I was able to pick over some barreled receivers (I needed a receiver) and found a good one for about $100, you can't do that on line! The people working there are knowledgeable and friendly. If you're in the area, I think you ought to go.

They had something from the entire inventory there when I visited last May (except for 03A3 Springfields, which is what I was looking for). Ammo was also available.

The Camp Perry store is not always well stocked since it has to be restocked by shipments from Anniston. Inventory depends on when the last shipment came in.
