    Flying Brass....

Was at the outdoor range today with a buddy and his son. We brought my AR15, WASR AK47 and a couple 9mm's.

Plinking away with the AK47 and the guy next to me a couple of lanes down says, "Hey, hey! your brass if flying and hitting me in the head!". I quickly apologized and put the rifle down. At that point there were no other lanes available, so I put it away. Eventually, the lanes opened up and I was able to move down further.

What can I use to stop this? A brass catcher? other options?

    Thanks!

Brass catcher or some guys set up their rifle case on the bench so it stands up and catches or deflects the brass. The range i go to has screens you can hang between benches to block those rouge casings.

oh, was I supposed to complain when someone else's brass is landing on us? I thought we were just supposed to collect it and reload it for our own use...

I always figured raining brass came with the territory.

apologize but say I wish the range had screens to block the flying brass especially since we are at a shooting range flying brass is part of the sport.

i know the local range I go to has wood pillers that divide each lane and the range provides cardboard sheets to staple up when you have flying brass. When your done just pull it down and put it back in the stack.

shoot the gun sideways like a gangster. hahaha

other than what they said above... not much else you can do. flying brass is a part of the range experience.

saw a nice net brass catcher on an AR today... looked good, seemed to work fine. sort of a combo of shooting and fishing, I think...
