I am going to write out a chain of events and I want all you legal eagles to throw in your opinion of "yay" or "nay" on it.

    1) I buy a crate of 20 Mosin rifles and have them shipped to my door using my handy-dandy C&R FFL.

    2) I look through these rifles and select a choice vintage. Perhaps a pre-war Tula or a rare Finn to complement my aspiring collection and burning passion for fine Soviet rifles.

    3) Seeing that I have selected my rifle and I have a burning desire to create a really cool coffee table (with the shipping crate), I sell the remaining 19 guns at cost.

    4) All of the above is done with the appropriate logging in/out/etc.

Is anything I have proposed illegal in any way?
Depending on the price that you can get them for (like i said in a previous post), i am VERY interested. I just want to verify that these would be cash and carry since they are considered relics right? Too be honest, i'm not sure what kind of mosin i want. I would have to look into what you mean by the different receivers and the different models (m38, m44?). Anyways, if you do plan on buying a crate and selling the rest then please PM me a price.

Good luck with the club! I wish there was something like that at the other UCs too.

Yes, Mosin's are cash-n-carry as they are greater than 50 years old.

For more information about the various models of Mosin's, I recommend you spend some time reviewing http://7.62x54r.com

Buyos. The 91/30 is the long one. the standard rifle. The M38 and M44 are short barreled. Typically a bit less accurate and a LOT more recoil heavy.

You cant go wrong by starting with the plain 91/30. If you really like it and want to collect more, then a 38 or 44 would be good later.

They were $30 ea and you could barely give them away a few years ago. But like all guns, eventually the feast goes to famine and the price goes up when supply runs out. Lets hope there is another boat of 44 and 38s coming in.

Can WE be friends? My wife is financially constrictive too!!! and i've been wanting a 91/30 BAD for years now but the best deal i can find is at Big 5 for $90, and I just happen to be working (seasonal firefighter, on 72hrs, off 96) when they still have them, and then they run out of stock as soon as i get home. I was thinking about getting my C&R but i was wondering, do i still have to pay a fee to DROS the gun or is that completely bypassed by having a C&R? Thanks...FRIEND

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

Yes, the C&R allows you to bypass the DROS and all that other stuff. Just order it, and it will be at your door in a week or a little less. Let me warn you, it's a crazy, addictive feeling having a gun dropped off at your door in CA.

My coworkers were in Iraq with me and given all they do for their family, and their wives to deny them a $70 rifle, I felt I needed to help.

So I just outright gave it to them with some ammo before they left to another base.

Here is a good deal on a nice one.

If you are getting one or two Mosins spend a little more and get something nice or one you will keep. Whats $20 more. Even Big5 has some nice ones once in a while. Finns are a good step. Now, if you are buying enough to storm the palace, then the price really makes a difference
