    WTF? Too many guns

While I was talking to a friend in my workroom last night, I glanced down and noticed two AR-15 receivers on my desk, in addition to the complete rifle in the cabinet.

I only remember purchasing two receivers, not three. I have no recollection of buying that third receiver, or where it came from.

I keep a spreadsheet registry of all my guns, but I forgot to put the AR-15s on it. I better get onto that.

I had a buddy that had a similar experience. We moved his (huge) safe a few weekends ago and as he was unloading it he pulled out guns that he had no idea he had. I didn't understand how that could happen either since these were expensive guns,(old colt revolvers in the original black boxes). Well he was pleasantly surprised too, for a different reason. Sadly, I know exactly what I have, when I bought it, and how much I paid. No surprises like that in my safe.

I did that with ammo! I found an extra 500 rounds of WWB .45acp awhile back and was stoked. Thats worth what, like a thousand bucks now on the forums

Yeah, a friend of mine was talking about doing the same thing. He has TONS of guns in a few safes. He was going through it the other day and found a bunch of handguns he had forgotten about still new in the boxes. I guess some of his firearms are more of a collection.

I too can name ALL the firearms in my safe and NONE of them are new still in the box un-fired.

It's funny I did the same. I found a case of .45 WWB in a cabinet because at the time I ran out of room where I usually store my ammo.

              Man, it was like Christmas.

I've done that with ammo a few times also. Nothing like finding 500-1,000 rounds you forgot about. But now with the ammo crunch I don't think I'll forget how much I have ever again.

I don't see how the hell you could forget about a high end firearm, either you have a bad memory, are on drugs, or have an insane amount of guns.

One time when I moved, I unbolted the safe from the floor. To do that, I had to remove the foam padding from the bottom of the safe. Under the foam padding, I found a thousand bucks. Forgot I'd put it in there.

I went and bought a new gun.

All of you please make sure you talk to your insurance company about making sure your firearms are insured against theft, destruction and disappearance. Homeowner policies only cover $1000-$2500 typically. I had to buy a rider to specifically cover my firearms, accessories, ammo and reloading equipment/supplies.

You just need some help. Hand me your money, and the combination to your safe, and I promise you that next time you open it you'll be surprised!
