    Panoche - Questions

Hi. This is my first thread here.
I'm picking up my first shotgun ever (Mossberg 500a + 18.5" barrel and pistol grip) tomorrow, Friday Oct. 16th!
I'm extremely excited. This is not my first time shooting though.

I plan on taking it to the local trap range but would hopefully like to head up to Panoche Hills this weekend.

I plan on being as safe and responsible as possible and to cleanup any trash (mine or not) left behind.

    My questions:

Is Panoche Hills open to recreational shotgun use now?

Can I bring clay pigeons for trap shooting there? If so, do they have to be biodegradable?

Any rules/precautions I should be aware of as a Panoche Hills-newbie?

    Thanks guys!

Yes, yes, no, clean up your own mess. No services everything must be brought in. Oh yeah no cell service either. Check out range clean up thread. This Saturday the 17th.

Pull the seal off and screw the lid back on.
Then you can squeeze the mustard and it will come out of the bottle..

Thanks man, I really appreciate it.
So I guess I'll buy a box or two of 135 clay pigeons from Walmart.

Any advice for cleaning up pigeons effectively?

Heck I shoot at clays with my rifles. I enjoy a positive action target. Each trip up a couple of guys shoot their scatter
        guns.

Bring a rake for your shells and the clay parts you can get, clay parts you can't oh well.

Don't forget trash bags, bug spray, water, food, sunscreen and maybe some shade cover. It can pretty hot out there.

          Good deal.
          Thanks Bob.

I might make it up this Saturday for the clean-up, but I might not, see how school plays out you know.

Turbinator and a bunch of other Calgunners have a range cleanup and shoot going on this weekend, hook up with them.

aint the clays self destructive, or water soluble?

Not from what I've seen. There are old, sun beaten clays that sit out there for a long time (years?) at Panoche. They hardly break down.
