    Stolen Colt SAA!

I recently went to a gun show at Cal Expo in Sacramento California and purchased a Colt SAA from a dealer I have seen many times at various gun shows. I did the transfer at the show and I was going to pick up the Colt SAA tomorrow so I called the person I did the transfer with and she told me the DOJ told her the SAA is a stolen gun! I have been calling the dealer and have been getting a busy signal. I sent an email to him just now and will see what happens with that. anyone ever have this happen to you? I am out a large sum of money.........how would this work? the seller should refund me my money and he takes the loss? am I SOL?

The seller should refund your money. You might have to go to a show to find him.
If he don't refund the money. I would stand by his table a give others a warning.

Please tell us the vendors name.

...I am confused here. Doesn't the dealer have to record a transfer when they received / bought the stolen firearm? Why wasn't it caught then?

The seller should have found that it was stolen when he did the transfer to receive it. Either the DOJ messed up earlier or something fishy is going on with that seller. He has to refund your money, he took your money for a Colt SAA, serial number specified. If he can't deliver the Colt then your contract with him is voided.

Wow that sucks, I would definitely call, call, call, and if no answer to the phone or e-mail I would take a little drive out to their shop/house and demand an answer. I hope this gets resolved sooner then later
