Post Office "LOST" my 1911 mags!!!!!

I'm never using USPS to send firearms accesorries again. Bought some Colt 1911 mags over the internet. When i tried them in my pistol they didn't fit right. I mail it back to the company i bought it from and when the package got to them it was opened and all 4 mags were gone I filed a formal complaint and it will take 3weeks to 3 months for claims to settle this

I would look up the local number for the Postal Police and call them directly.

The Post Office didn't "lose" your mags, someone stole them.

I've seen this happen too many times. Stick with UPS or Fedex. Better tracking and there's $100 of free insurance on every package.

Don't bother with any "value added" services USPS. They will charge you insurance but they will take 6-12 months to "investigate" and then not pay. Insurance is a huge cash cow for them since people fall for it, but they rarely pay.
I once sent something certified and they lost it. I filed the complaint/claim form with them, and got a speedy response 18 MONTHS later saying "sorry, we have no clue what happened to your package"
If you want some level of accountablility, go with UPS/Fedex. They are much better at customer service.

Yes, FedEx has excellent customer service.

To this day, they deny that my house even exists.

The best method of delivery is face to face. When it absolutely, positively has to get there nothing beats doing it yourself.

Well, just thought I would share, today me and my roomie got 270 dollars worth of stuff (900 rounds of 8mm and a new battery for my laptop) and both UPS AND FedEx left these packages at our place unsigned. The ammo was put behind our trash barrels (admitedly, you cant see them from the road, but it was still illegal) and my 140 dollar battery was just put under the door mat with a good 2/3 of it sticking out; we dont even know what they were trying to do with it.

Moral of the story: be there when UPS/FedEx shows up.

                          pfft, thats nothing,

when I had my computer biz, I had other people sign for my packages, people I never even heard about, I would call ups and argue that my last name is not remotely related to the lastname of the person who signed...

Had ups leave computers at my door when no one was there...

had usps leave a box of $5k of Ram Chips on top of my mailbox, small little box just sitting there...

when fedex ground first launched, they tired to deliver to my house 3 times, and "couldnt find my house" had to FAX them mapquest directions and guide them in on the cellphone to get to me, and I live in a city of 100k people in LA county

the best one was when someone(dhl?) delivered 20 laptops to the wrong building for a customer, after wondering for a day what had happend(tracking showed they delivered to the right address) I get a call from someone I knew at the building on the 3rd floor, (my customer was in a single story building) that they might have some stuff that might belong to me, they didnt know whose it was. 50k worth of stuff missing for day

I bought some wilsons mag on ebay. I guess the seller mailed via USPS. It arrived in the my mailbox unpackage. They were just in the original clear plastic bag. :/
