So how many TOTAL rounds do you fire a year?

Just wondering what our "average" shooters are going through each year... say an 'average estimation".

So how many rounds do you 'usually' fire each year, total, combined? This would include plinking, practice, hunting, competitions...EVERYTHING- from .22 rifle or pistol, centerfire, and shotgun

I shoot about 400 rounds a year, usually reloads. I like my stockpile of ammo to sit and wait.

      When I'm in the league

It can be over 8000 rounds/year. Right now, I am just over 4000. Need to practice a lot more.

I used to shoot 3000 - 5000 a year. Rising ammo costs have cut that down dramatically.

I shoot a minimum of 100 rounds per weekend, and that's not counting in competitions or rimfire. I shoot every weekend, minus 3-4 per year, so I'm definitely over the 5,000 mark.

I shoot about 1100 rounds a weekend. Thank god for Walmart .22lr bulkpacks! I shoot about 100 rounds of .45acp, 10 rounds of 7.62x54r and up to 100 rounds of 12 gauge. Just about every weekend, at least 1100 rounds of .22 though!

In just High Power matches and practice I shoot over 5K a year.. include my Garand shooting and matches for that and practice as well as my once a week pistol shooting as well as my .22 shooting.. I'm over 10K a year easily.....

Not as much as I used to, maybe 15k/year now. Mainly 9x19 and .38

The cost of ammo has had an affect on how much I go plinking. I have been concentraiting more on stocking up as opposed to shooting. I am trying to have a supply of at least 15000-20000 rounds in storage and maintain that from there.

I guess one of my questions is: What is the proper amount of magazines to have for your main rifle / handgun ?

What ratio of magazines to the amount of ammo you have in reserve.

Lets say you have a AR15 and you have 10, 30 round mags for it how much ammo is the minimum amount to supply those mags are you comfortable with

                    100 rounds ?
                    500 rounds ?
                    1000 rounds ?
                    2000 rounds ?
                    5000 rounds or more ?

Anyone have a slide rule ?

                      5000+, that's counting all the .22LR I shoot.

Currently I'm going for about 300 per weekend.

Hmm...15k a year? I skip some weekends though, of course.

Dang, when I started it was about 100 every other week.

                        Breaking down to roughly 100 .45s, 100 .223s, and 100 .22s. Probably more .22s.

im at about 600 this week. i try to get 100 in a day. still not shootin how i would like... practice practice practice.

the break down is all 9mm, though i do need to practice reloading my benelli... but shooting wise, ive got it down, so i only shoot maybe 100 a week out of it.

i should have a 1911 next month so, ill start practicing with that also, 100 a day.(if i can afford it)

i think im gonna start with the shooting league at TMW...

4000 rounds Practicing, and 1500 rounds Qualifying easy... I wish I had time to train more, but work gets in the way.
