The best gas system system? Is it worth it ?

I am thinking about redoing one of my uppers to a 14.5 inch piston driven upper for a christmas present to myself. Currently my upper is a 16'' LMT. Which gas system is the best, and I need to know a local guy that is able to do this kind of job, without not have to wait 3 months. Last question, and the most inportant, is it worth it? I mean spending the money on the conversion. There is a place I once had a barrel cut in Ohio and they did a great job, and the turn around was 2 weeks, Adco I think the name of the company is. I am currently living in the bay area at this time.

If you want a better gas system, sell your carbine upper and buy a mid-length upper.
A gas piston is not an upgrade worth the cost.

There is a guy on here sell a PRI upper with a intermedate gas sytem, is that the same as a midlength system. ? Will the system work with a carbine length recoil tube?

Intermediate is 2" shorter than rifle length or 1 3/8" longer than mid-length.
            I bet it's an 18" barrel right?
If so, that's even nicer than mid-length.

Any upper can work with any length buffer tube as long as the proper buffer and spring are used.
