Where do tired old guns go?

I mean if the barrel gets warped or after thousands and thousands of round through it and the barrel is...i don't know, not accurate anymore....or whatever. What happens to the rifle or pistol or shotgun? Maybe a pistol is rusted beyond even looking like a pistol anymore. Or maybe you ran over your carbon AR-15 and cracks it really bad. Is everything replaceable? You don't just dump the upper in the garbage, do you?

All old firearms can be donated to me. Someone had to say it.

        Barrels are replaced.

I have a Savage 110 that has worn out a 243 and two 22.250 barrels. I just screw another one on and go shooting.

Save it for gun buy back program. Might get $50-100 or maybe more.

Of coarse any gun can be repaired, but you have to break down the cost to benefit ratio.

You can turn them into your police department to be destroyed. Or destroy it yourself, IE. cut the receiver into pieces.

I'm not one to sell junk, so unless it has some antique value, I wouldn't sell it.

Is this purely hypothetical, or did this happen to you? If you have a smashed Carbon 15, PM me and maybe I'll give you a few bucks for it

Even if my guns are damaged, rusted, inoperable, etc. I don't think I'd ever participate in a buy-back program. I will not contribute to the perceived "success" of them.

I use them to make things in the shop.
The demo derby car we built a couple months ago has pieces of barrel used as spacers all over it.

Where do tired old guns go? To the Private Firearms sale thread. You see them they always start with the title saying(LIke new gun only 200 rounds through it).
