The other day I was getting ready to take my kids to swim practice. I grabbed my Glock 20 from the other room, unloaded it, and locked it up in a transport container. My 10 year old daughter whom I've never talked to about RKBA issues asked me a question.
Her: Daddy, why are you locking up the gun?
Me: Well, the law says I have to when I transport it in the car with us.
Her: That's silly. How are you going to use it then?
Me: Well, I guess I'd have to load it really fast.
Her: Why did they make that law?
Me: So criminals don't carry loaded guns and shoot people while they drive.
Her: (laughing) Now that's silly, everyone knows criminals don't follow the law.
I kid you not. Straight from a 10 year olds mouth with no previous RKBA discussions. It just goes to show you that children are smarter than legislators.
