Yes, as long as they aren't listed by name.

the couple of gun stores Ive been too say that the DOJ or ATF said that they werent considered "Not Illegal" or something like that. Does anyone have any thing in writing saying if they are good to go? It seems to me like they would be in the same category as an SKS or a Kel Tec.

As long as they're RAA, you're gtg. All the Saigas floating around CGN and supporting vendors are RAA and legal.

          Or if it says Arsenal.

Russian American Armory Saiga Rifles are not listed on the Kasler v. Lockyer Assault Weapon List, and therefore, they are legal (*provided that they are in a legal configuration per PC 12276.1 (a) - Please see the Calguns AW ID Flowchart for further documentation)

The "Kalashnikov USA - Hunter Rifle / Saiga" is the one that is banned, which has a lot of dealers confused because they see the word "Saiga" and then proceed to poop bricks. I don't think you can find these any more even if you tried really hard.

I was at turners the other day and they said even though its not considered illegal, they will not help facilitate the process...?

If an AK is not on the banned list, you either need it to have a bullet button. With a BB, you can put on banned features.

If you want to drop the magazines, you need to go with a featureless build (MMG or a solar tactical grip slip will work).

They are legal and you can pick one up at Gun Kings Armory in Glendale.
