I just read this in my local paper and am trying to come up with a responce to send to them. :evil:

Since that last sentence is not even gramatically correct, much less factually correct, I'd say the "reporter" needs to find a new line of work. Something in sanitation engineering perhaps. Unless that's a direct quote from COP Weaver, in which case the same applies to him.

What newspaper was it in? The SF Chronicle did a very similar thing on a story years ago. The story also had an accompanying video, which showed an AK clone. They called it an SKS and an assault rifle, and then mentione dhwo the SKS is illegal in CA.

I politely sent them an email stating that the weapon in question is an AK, not an SKS, and that SKSs are (for the most part) legal in CA.

I got a response back from the editor basically calling me an idiot, how their reporting integrity is greater than my made-up information, and how they won't retract good info. Also some stuff about "the ATF told us so, so screw you"

Overall they were the elitist pigs I expected.

"high powered, nuclear fueled, bullet spraying, cop-killing, anti-immigrant, anti-abortion, homophobic, cigarette smoking, SUV driving, meat eating, animal killing, war mongering, conservative republican, President Bush loving, SKS assault rifle"
