quick question ? do you use shooting gloves?

Well ? While at turners I eyed some but didn't get them ?

So do you have any? Would you go as far as recommending them while shooting ?

        You are very wise.

Shooting gloves are for those who also have driving gloves.......Wimps.

I don't play golf so I'll leave that one alone.........still makes me wonder though.

They are for high end competition shooting. For most people they will just get in the way. If you really are interested in some check out Creedmore Sports in Oceanside. THey specialize in competitive gear. A link is below.

The only time I have used a glove shooting is on an AK. I use the left hand glove only so I don't get burned by the handguard when doing multiple rapid fires. When you empty a 75 round drum the handguard gets hot. REAL HOT! For regular target shooting the handguards don't get hot enough to use a glove.

            I use these:

When I have the magnum wheelguns out for extended sessions.

All my .41 & .44 mags wear wood grips, and after 100 through one and 200 through another your hands get beat pretty hard.

The PAST gloves make it pleasent.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

gloves have their place. Both the "tactical" and competition types.

They are probably more hassle then they are worth for casual shooting at a commercial range. But in competition or in the field they are worth considering.

I enjoy using them, but I don't want to be the idiot trying to look cool at the shooting range.

And when the need arises to actually use my gun (middle of the night, guy breaking in) I probably won't have time to put on my pair of Oakley shooting gloves to deal with my intruder.

Nope. Takes away the feel of the trigger.

I thought of getting a pair for when I went to Front Sight but only because I was going to be shooting 800 rounds in four days. Ended up not getting them. Didn't end up with any blisters either for which I was grateful.

Ever ride a motorcycle and try and pop a wheelie with gloves on, after you normally do it without them on?? The difference in feel is incredible! I dont use them, nor do I really think you need them!

I used to wear gloves when I would shoot trap at night when it was COLD out. We used to huddle around a barrel with a fire inside to keep warm too. It's a lot easier to feel a trigger when your hands aren't numb.

                          Otherwise, I don't use them.

                            PPE, good stuff.

I wear double layer padded sailing gloves with half fingers whenever I break out a couple of hundred rounds of .454, .44mag, or .41 mag in either the alloy or mountain gun version. Also hotloaded 45s and 460 Rowland in the Clark conversion. I've got some kevlar duty gloves somewhere that work well, but they only prevent blisters not bruises.

I wear kangaroo leather gloves with the trigger pads removed. I grip guns very high and they have saved me many times from getting bit by P7s glocks and everything else.

I also wear them when I shoot heavy hitters. hot 44s and my 45-70 will bruise hands, so I take every bit of protection I can get.
