    Breakfree CLP "Winchester" rebrand

First time I've seen it, or at least noticed it. Went to buy Breakfree CLP this morning and couldn't find any at Wal-Mart. Everything is all labeled "Winchester" with officially licensed logos. They had a bottle of Winchester brand spray that has the Breakfree CLP logo overlayed, and the back panel on the bottle describes it as exactly like the manufacturer's product.

Well I get it home, and it doesn't smell or act like the original product in the slightest. Breakfree almost foams when it comes out the spray can, it's yellower, it has a distinct smell and it coats the metal with a homogeneous microfilm. As you rub it it works into a luster and the metal gets a real smooth feel to it. This product does none of that.

Anyone tried it or know what the story is here? I understand CLP is made to different specs and sold to different people but this is almost nothing like any kind of CLP I've ever seen or used.

Weird I was at Walmart today and noticed the same thing. I however didnt notice it saying CLP just Breakfree. I think I'll just stick with my tried and true Breakfree CLP.

See that's what happened fellas. I grabbed the littler bottle, it said CLP. I saw the one next to it for a dollar more but 3 times the size and figured "That's a great deal!" So I just grabbed it and didn't look good enough... The bottles look strikingly similar. All black, with big red Winchester logo on it. The actual "Breakfree" part is tiny and only an outline that's overlain.

Just a reminder that if it sounds like it's too good to be true, it is. Make sure you look at the bottles real good and don't make the mistake I did.

Ah well. It's cheap and it's not a bad product. Just NOT a lubricant... It's only a cleaner.
