do you wear orange vest &camo while hunting? why?

ok I know people wear orange vests while hunting so that other hunters can see them and they won't get shot. But why do hunters wear camo clothes from head to toe and then wear a orange vest? why should people spend a couple of hundred dollars in camo clothes if your going to wear something over it.

why not just wear regular clothes and then then orange vest?

Camo to blend in. Orange is required by law for hunters to wear outside CA IIRC.

Same reason guys spend 2k on an AR15, then top it off with an ACOG, to go shoot paper at the range on the 50 yd line; Gotta spend our money on something

yes i thought they were, I just wasn't sure. That still doesn't explain why people wear camo underneath the vest. why not wear regular clothes which will save you money instead of buy camo clothes.

Deer don't see in color (as well as most other animals from what I've heard - how the hell anyone knows for sure is anyones guess) but they can see shapes. The camo clothing blends with the surroundings better than solid colors do due to the pattern of the camo. Or so I've been told.

Colorado requires orange to be worn by hunters. I only wear it to stay within the law. Besides it clashes with my expensive real tree camo clothing.

ok but you're still wearing one SOLID color in the vest. they might not be able to see the orange but you're still not wearing any breakup pattern in the vest it self.

I wear camo (milsurp, it's Alpine this season) and a 3/4 blaze vest with the black branch break up. It's not the color factor to the animal, it's the ability to see solids. Think of a zebra in Africa.
