Guns allowed in Arizona bars starting Wednesday

I checked and it doesn't appear to be a dupe...

this could be something that turns the movement around as long as some yahoo doesn't mess it up for everyone...

I'm very ok with sidearms not being permitted in saloons.

Yah We can toast AZ. all we want but it sounds like the owners of the bars are still the ones that have the final say when it comes getting your CCW in a bar. They will just all post no guns and that is that.....

That's understandable and all..but they can compromise and limit the amount you can consume instead?

If I were a bar down there I would start that trend just to get the rest to follow..they eventually will if things turned my way and more people visited my place.

People carrying still aren't allowed to drink in AZ. That means the guy carrying is a built-in DD -- I'll bet the bars figure that out soon and the signs come down.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

You make it sound like this is a problem. That's a GOOD thing that the owners of the bars have the freedom to determine whether or not they want firearms on the premises. I find it very unlikely that 100% of the bars will ban firearms, even if every bar but one in the whole state bans them, if another bar sees that the one that allows guns gets more customers(the customers with guns), then that owner has the freedom to change their mind.

Freedom works both ways. You should have the freedom to carry, and people who own private property have the freedom to ask you to leave, or now in this case, ask you to show up. Hell, I'd advertise a special for people who show up with a DD that's carrying. Something like maybe, a dollar off drinks if your buddy can show the bartender his CCW permit, and then of course free sodas like usual for the buddy with a CCW who would also be the DD.

                          What he said.

Part in bold, cause the misinformed (due to the media & anti-campaign) thinks it allows people to drink and carry in AZ.

I've read a few things on this. So funny to see some people freaking out about this. You know, because people with guns are automatically law breakers in some people's minds. The fact that they're CCW holders shows what lengths these people go to to abide by the law.

The purpose of the legislation was not to allow people to carry and drink in bars. The main reason was to allow a person carrying to eat in a resturant that also had a liquor license. Consuming alcoholic beverages while carrying is a violation of Arizona law although it is allowed in some other States, such as Nevada and Utah.
