We hear about using brushes made for gun cleaning, and old toothbrushes too. But has anyone here actually tried using their sonicare toothbrush to clean?

i guess you can, but why? kinda expensive to use for gun cleaning when a basic $1 brush can do the same?Originally posted by leelawBecause -ohmigosh- they can add their opinions, too?Originally posted by SoCalSig1911Preppers canceled my order this afternoon because I called them a disgrace... Not ordering from those clowns again.Originally posted by PrepperGunShopTruthfully, we cancelled your order because of your lack of civility and your threats ... What is a problem is when you threaten my customer service team and make demands instead of being civil. Plain and simple just don't be an a**hole (where you told us to shove it). -

Not a smart move. It would spray the cleaning stuff all over the place.sigpic

I've used electric toothbrushes and waterpiks for years to speed things up. Some solvents will destroy the internals, some won't. Depends on what yours are made of.
I used to use hot Simple Green in the waterpik for cosmoline removal, but it turned out to be a bad idea. Mpro7 works fine, but the mess is horrendous. Drop cloths and the great outdoors are a must.
I'm not too sure about the actual ultrasonic properties of the sonicare, but IIRC micro droplets of contaminated water aren't so good for the lungs. It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.Comment

I've thought of using the sonic care brushes also. They do get pretty filthy and plan to buy new ones anyway. I'm guessing just make sure you're well ventilated and do it in an area you don't mind splashing some chemicals and gun powder. Has anyone tried to use those aerosol cans to clean their guns? I'm wondering if those are safe to use.Comment

I'm very aware of that but, I am trying to come up with a shield system before I go through with it.
I've got one. The brush is going to be for parts which are too big for the little tank.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor
